Developing Questions for Young Future Scientists

 

Kuala Lumpur, 18 Mar – NSC 2017 YSN-ASM Question Committee held a workshop to develop questions for National Science Challenge 2017.

National Science Challenge (NSC) is a science competition designed to promote and enhance interest among secondary school students towards science, technology and innovation (STI).

The challenge comprises of three different levels which are the Preliminary Level, State Level and Grand Final where the champions will receive Prime Minister’s Challenge Trophy and an opportunity for an international study visit.

The workshop was held for the Committee members to develop questions for all levels of the competition, and to provide detailed answer scheme for each questions.

Categories of the questions developed are in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and General Science appropriate for the participants. The Question Committee is led by Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Tahir and Dr Yap Wing Fen, whereas the Organising Committee of NSC 2017 is led by Associate Professor Dr Chan Kok Meng.

NSC 2017 kicks off its Preliminary Level on 8 May 2017 and ends on 12 May 2017 where participating teams will answer online questions on their assigned dates.
