{"id":893,"date":"2020-10-19T11:29:50","date_gmt":"2020-10-19T11:29:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.akademisains.gov.my\/ar19\/?p=893"},"modified":"2020-10-21T07:13:03","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T07:13:03","slug":"ncpp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.akademisains.gov.my\/ar19\/ncpp\/","title":{"rendered":"NATIONAL CENTRE FOR PARTICLE PHYSICS (NCPP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1603098494534{padding-right: 5% !important;padding-left: 5% !important;}&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a centre that facilitates scientific collaboration in particle physics, NCPP is instrumental as a focal point for the development of new knowledge in theoretical high energy and particle physics as well as collaboration with international experiments and research centres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The centre has led national exploration in experimental particle physics research through the engagement in impactful theoretical physics research as well as high energy and particle physics efforts with international centres of excellence (COEs).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">NCPP is collaborating and actively sending researchers to four prominent international COEs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) European <\/span>Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), <span class=\"s2\">Hamburg, German<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">High Energy Accelerator Research Organization <span class=\"s2\">(KEK), Tsukuba, Japan<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Osaka University, Osaka, Japan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">In 2019, NCPP organised two scientific and capacity building programmes for undergraduates and researchers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b>National School of Particle Physics<br \/>\n(25 \u2013 27 February 2019)<br \/>\n<\/b>A platform for local undergraduates to participate in comprehensive and hands-on learning on particle physics, conducted by experts from various top research centres for particle physics in the world. Three participants from this programme were selected as Malaysian participants for the 2019 CERN Summer Student Programme (CSSP) in Geneva.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><b><em>Konferens Zarah &amp; Daya 2019<\/em><br \/>\n(31 October 2019)<br \/>\n<\/b>The conference was jointly organised with UKM and Agensi Nuklear Sains in conjunction with the International Nuclear Science, Technology and Engineering Conference (iNUSTEC2019).
