MCRCR was endorsed by the National Committee on Research Integrity (NCRI) to be a vital tool for the academic community to uphold ethics and responsibility in conducting research. MCRCR was created to increase the nation\u2019s competitiveness, development and innovation in research and remain as expert in the eyes of the global community.<\/p>\n

The objective of this MCRCR programme is to instil research integrity among local researchers and scientists and promote efficient implementation of policies and strategic through transparency and accountability in research. This national code of integrity also aims to prove that Malaysian researchers not only have the expertise, knowledge, and skillset but also embrace ethics in research.<\/p>\n

The first physical MCRCR workshop was organised at UCSI University on 11 April 2022. The instructors for this training workshop were Dr Chau De Ming, Professor Dr Abhimanyu Veerakumarasivam and Associate Professor Dr Chai Lay Ching. Forty scientists and researchers enrolled this course.<\/p>\n

Participants were required to take an assessment to test their understanding on MCRCR on 21 May 2022 at UCSI University. Thirty-five participants passed the assessment and received a certificate that is valid for five years.<\/p>\n

The module is critical to uphold ethics and responsibility in research conduct and enhancing the competitiveness, development, and innovation of the country.<\/p>\n

The NCRI plans to make MCRCR workshop and assessment as part of a national university\u2019s requirement, especially when researchers applies for grant. The inclusion of MCRCR is essential to increase transparency and accountability in doing research.<\/p>\n
