ASM Honours TRSM Recipients of 2024 and 2025
December 8, 2025Congratulations to Mohd Razif Mohd Rathi and Dr Muhammad Fauzan Abu Bakar from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Sarawak for being named the winning team of the ASM ArtScience™ Prize 2025, receiving RM20,000, a trophy, and a travel fellowship.
Their artwork, “The Unforgettable Tales”, also won the People’s Choice Award. ASM was honoured to welcome the Secretary General of MOSTI, Datuk Seri Hj Hasnol Zam Zam Hj Ahmad, to grace the Prize Giving Ceremony.
Building on this achievement, this year’s finalists demonstrated exceptional creativity that embodied the theme “Transforming the Future of Arts: AI Meets Sustainability.”
In his officiating speech, Datuk Seri Hj Hasnol Zam Zam emphasised the importance of developing talent who can think beyond traditional boundaries and combine artistic empathy with scientific rigour to address emerging societal and planetary challenges.
ASM President, Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc, further highlighted that the ASM ArtScience™ Prize demonstrates that merging imagination with evidence equips the next generation with the skills and vision to shape a sustainable and inclusive future.
Congratulations are also extended to the recipients of the special awards:
- Rising Star Award:
- Dr Lee Kin Keong, Dr Liong Mei Yin and Dr Cheng Kin Meng from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman – “Woven Emotions”
- Consolation Prizes:
- Associate Professor Dr Safrizal Shahir, Associate Professor Dr Ahmad Fairuz Omar and Mr Norshahidan Mohamad from Universiti Sains Malaysia – “Spectra of Thirst to Sustain the Unseen: AI and the Whisper of Reflectance and Resilience”
- Dr Chong Yee Won – “Brainwave-Mediated Dance: Voicing the Neurodivergent Through Art and Science”
- Mr Chong Yan Chuah – “Luópán_羅盤.exe”
The finalists’ projects were showcased from 17 to 24 November 2025 at Pusat Sains Negara, a strategic partner in this programme.
