ASM Welcomes New Members at Inaugural YSN-ASM Induction
January 15, 2026ASM CEO, Puan Hazami Habib, represented ASM at the Cyberjaya Conversations Summit 2025 on 3 December 2025, where she joined regional leaders in a panel discussion on strengthening ASEAN’s future through science diplomacy, science, technology and innovation.
Speaking under the theme “APASTI 2026–2035: Mobilising ASEAN for a Shared Future,” Puan Hazami shared insights on how mission-oriented initiatives can serve as a unifying mechanism to drive regional inclusivity.
She emphasised that ASEAN’s diversity in capacity and readiness should not be a barrier to progress, but rather an opportunity for collaboration grounded in shared purpose and collective advancement.
Drawing from the ASEAN STI Ecosystem Foresight 2035 & Beyond report, Puan Hazami underscored that effective science diplomacy must be intentional, inclusive and anchored in a long-term vision.
She highlighted the ASEAN Foresight Framework, which is structured around the Triple-10 matrix—aligning 10 science and technology drivers across 10 socioeconomic sectors while responding to 10 global forces of change.
According to her, this framework provides a clear and practical structure for coordinated regional action, enabling ASEAN Member States to navigate complexity and uncertainty together.
The panel session also featured distinguished regional leaders, including H.E. Dr Ir Boediastoeti Ontowirjo, Professor Dr Sukit Limpijumnong, and H.E. Dr Hul Seingheng, who offered diverse perspectives on regional cooperation and sustainable development.
The Cyberjaya Conversations Summit serves as a public–private leadership platform that convenes global thought leaders, policymakers, industry leaders, researchers and emerging voices to shape a sustainable, competitive and future-ready ASEAN.
ASM’s participation reflects its continued commitment to advancing science diplomacy and fostering inclusive regional collaboration.
