
ASM ArtScience™ Prize 2025 Celebrates Creativity and Sustainability
December 8, 2025On 13 November 2025, ASM celebrated the recipients of the Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) 2024 & 2025.
A total of 32 outstanding Malaysian scientists were recognised, 25 in 2024 and seven in 2025, for their exemplary contributions to the advancement of science, technology, innovation, and the economy (STIE).
The event was graced by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), YB Tuan Chang Lih Kang, who commended the recipients for their dedication to research that benefits society.
He announced that MOSTI will soon roll out the Innovation Readiness Level (IRL) framework, developed by ASM, into its grant evaluation mechanism to assess innovation readiness and accelerate real-world impact.
ASM Vice President, Academician Distinguished Professor Datuk Dr Looi Lai Meng FASc, emphasised the importance of a mission-oriented approach to STIE, aligning research with Malaysia’s national priorities.
She noted that TRSM serves as a key platform linking scientific excellence with policy, industry collaboration, and mentorship to deliver meaningful societal outcomes.
Since its establishment in 2012, TRSM has recognised 210 exceptional Malaysian researchers whose work drives innovation, strengthens national policy, and enhances global competitiveness.
Notably, 62 TRSM scientists were listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University between 2023 and 2025.
ASM extends its heartfelt congratulations to all TRSM 2024 & 2025 recipients for exemplifying the spirit of scientific excellence and driving Malaysia’s transformation towards a knowledge-driven, innovation-led nation.
