Empowering Cancer Care: Dr Melissa Lim at MASCC 2024
September 5, 2024In conjunction with the Malaysia Commercialisation Year Summit 2024 (MCY 2024), ASM CEO Puan Hazami Habib was invited to speak at the 6th Technology Investment Meeting (TIM) of the D-8 Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D8-TTEN) on 13 August 2024. She shared ASM’s successful experience transforming research and development (R&D) into commercial ventures through i-Connect. This ASM pilot programme uses a mission-driven approach and focuses on fostering collaboration among industry, academia, government, and the community.
She also highlighted how the Malaysia Science Endowment (MSE) can replicate and scale up upon the i-Connect model on a larger scale. She emphasised the importance of collaboration among D-8 countries and suggested models that D-8 countries could create for researchers, businesses and startups to connect and thrive.
D8-TTEN is an affiliated body of The Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), which consists of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkiye. The D8-TTEN network aims to facilitate the transfer of technology among member countries and fulfil technology market functions.
