Malaysia Launches National Planetary Health Action Plan
December 8, 2025ASM recently participated in Hari Biodiversiti Pahang (12-13 November 2025) and the Kuala Lumpur Seni & STEM Festival (21-23 November 2025), which featured the Precision Biodiversity Project.
Through this initiative, ASM collaborated with strategic partners, including Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), to implement a system for the digitalisation and monitoring of Malaysia’s biodiversity using the Internet of Things (IoT).
This effort aligns with the planetary health approach by developing an evidence-based biodiversity monitoring while strengthening the management and protection of the nation’s natural khazanah.
The pilot project is currently being implemented at the Pasoh Forest Reserve in Negeri Sembilan. In the longer term, the system is intended to be replicated across other forest reserves nationwide.
