Celebrating Merdeka Through Art and Unity
September 18, 2025The ASM Northern Chapter partnered with the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech) at Universiti Malaysia Perlis to organise the Football AI Tournament (FAIT) 2025 – Enhancing STEM Through Sports and Play from 4 to 14 August 2025.
This program provided students with the opportunity to explore interactive STEM learning through a sensor-based football league, where player performance was monitored in real time. In addition, students were also introduced to 3D design and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis.
Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) recipients, Associate Professor Dr Ammar Zakaria and Associate Professor Dr Latifah Munirah Kamarudin, were involved as ASM Experts for this programme.
FAIT 2025 was attended by 60 secondary school students, 250 primary school students, and international students from the A3I Asia Plus campus, including those from the University of Yamanashi, Japan, and Pukyong National University, South Korea.
This unique approach links sports with technology and inspires participants to pursue careers in STEM fields through exposure to future technologies.
