[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]ASM, through the ASM\u2122\ufe0f ArtScience Initiative<\/a>, in collaboration with Langkawi Development Authority<\/a>, on 3 December 2023, launched a coffee table book titled \u201cCosmic Connections: Langkawi<\/a>\u201d. The launch was graced by the Yang Teramat Mulia Dato\u2019 Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu\u2019adzam Shah, Tunku Temenggong Kedah.<\/p>\n

ASM President, Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc<\/a>, in his speech, emphasised that by fostering an environment that encourages the seamless integration of art, science, and cosmic exploration, we may not only enhance the tourism experience but also contribute to our nation\u2019s economic and cultural prosperity.<\/p>\n

The Cosmic Connections: Langkawi book was launched at Rimba Sky, Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat. Guests were treated to a special cosmos-themed dinner, which featured captivating performances and poetry readings from artists such as Datuk Ramli Ibrahim<\/a> and Tan Sri Johan Jaafar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Contained in the book are twenty-four poems by Professor Emeritus Dr Muhammad Haji Salleh<\/a> and seven works of art by Associate Professor Dr Jalaini Abu Hassan<\/a> are interwoven into the astronomical narrative provided by Academician Professor Emerita Tan Sri Dato\u2019 Seri Dr Mazlan Othman FASc, replete with sky images provided by Agensi Angkasa Malaysia – MYSA.
