During the discussion, JST and ASM look forward to strengthening the collaboration between both countries and identifying common priority areas in research as potential matching research grants with the Malaysia Science Endowment.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, ASM CEO Mdm Hazami Habib thanked JST for their unwavering commitment to securing spots for <a href=\"https:\/\/prelim.nsc.my\/\">National Science Challenge 2023<\/a> winners in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssp.jst.go.jp\/en\/\">Sakura Science Exchange Programme<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_message]In March 2023, Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio announced Japan&#8217;s commitment of USD 100 million to the <a href=\"https:\/\/jaif.asean.org\/\">Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund<\/a> (JAIF) 3.0. This new funding initiative, coinciding with the 50<sup>th<\/sup> Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, aims to support concrete initiatives aligned with the <a href=\"https:\/\/asean.org\/speechandstatement\/asean-outlook-on-the-indo-pacific\/\">ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific<\/a> (AOIP).<\/p>\n<p>The AOIP shares foundational principles with Japan&#8217;s Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) concept, emphasising openness, transparency, inclusivity, and rule-based frameworks.
