[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 20 February 2024, ASM received a courtesy visit from the King Prajadhipok\u2019s Institute<\/a> (KPI), Thailand. Emeritus Professor Dr Chaiwat Khamchoo, President of the Course Committee at KPI, led the visit with industry representatives. The visit aimed to exchange ideas and explore Malaysia\u2019s technology and innovation development strategies.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Professor Dr Chaiwat discussed KPI\u2019s focus on international relations and the institute\u2019s engineering, social science, and computer science initiatives. Puan Hazami Habib outlined the ASM\u2019s role as an advisory body to the government, emphasising the processes used to run the responsibility mandated by the government. She also highlighted positive support from various ministries in formulating and implementing visionary policies and studies, such as Science Outlook<\/a> and the 10-10 MySTIE Framework<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The dialogue session offers a great opportunity to exchange insights and foster collaboration between technology and innovation institutions. ASM looks forward to working with KPI to drive impactful advancements in our shared interests.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”5″ images=”5691,5692,5693,5694,5695,5696,5697″ img_size=”full”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_message]The 10-10 Malaysian Science, Technology, Innovation and Economic (MySTIE) Framework<\/strong><\/a> is an integration of 10 key Malaysian socio-economic drivers with 10 global leading science and technology drivers aligned to our strengths and needs.<\/p>\n

This Framework provides a systematic approach to transform Malaysia into a knowledge-intensive economy by design. It aims to generate shared economic prosperity across the diverse ecosystems in the country and shift Malaysia up the global innovation value chain.<\/p>\n

This Framework will enable key sectors of the economy to become more knowledgeintensive and innovation driven. This will enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Malaysian industries. It is designed to enhance the quality of life of the rakyat.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_message][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_message]Science Outlook<\/strong><\/a> is a flagship study of ASM that aims to present insights supported by relevant data on Malaysia\u2019s STI landscape.\u00a0Malaysia\u2019s aspiration to be an advanced nation requires all sectors to have the capacity for developing knowledge capital to fuel Malaysia\u2019s drive to be an advanced economy.<\/p>\n

STI has underpinned the pillars of our economic growth for the last six decades since independence and should be seen as a catalyst to spur the new economy. However, although Malaysia\u2019s growth has been steady, the STI development has not shown much satisfactory trajectory in comparison to developed nations.<\/p>\n

In tracking Malaysia\u2019s progress in STI, the evidence based Science Outlook report which is published biennially also serves as a monitoring and evaluation exercise.<\/p>\n
