As such, ASM, through the Precision Biodiversity project at Pasoh Forest Reserve, Negeri Sembilan, aims to develop a system and facility using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) that can capture biodiversity and environmental data in a precise and near real-time manner.<\/p>\n<p>Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akademisains.gov.my\/...\/precision-biodiversity\/\">Strategic Paper on Precision Biodiversity<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_message]Being the 12<sup>th<\/sup> mega-biodiverse country on earth, Malaysia has a global responsibility to conserve its biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>By adopting the <strong>Strategic Paper on Precision Biodiversity (PBD)<\/strong>, the country will show the world how this first-time-ever approach, can more effectively protect the planet and simultaneously deliver socio-economic returns.<\/p>\n<p>The vision is for Malaysia to be a nation that is informed and inspired to value and conserve bioresources while recognising the importance of investment in frontier technologies for the protection of biodiversity.<\/p>\n<p>Responsible and ethical stewardship of our ecosystem and establishment of a biodiversity-linked economy supported by sustainably managed biological resources will be driven by precision technologies alongside conventional approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Establishment of a national genome database to generate economic growth and promote human wellbeing is set to open up opportunities for translational research.
