[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On 24 June 2024, ASM CEO Puan Hazami Habib, joined by the Deputy Secretary General (Planning and Science Enculturation) of MOSTI<\/a>, Puan Ruziah Shafei, along with delegates from MIGHT<\/a>, visited the Korean Academy of Science & Technology<\/a> (KAST) in Seongnam-Si, South Korea, following the signing of the ASM-KAST Supplementary Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 22 January 2024.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6104″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large”][vc_column_text]Hosted by KAST Executive Vice President Professor Changhee Lee and other KAST members, the visit featured an introduction to KAST and the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia<\/a> (AASSA), followed by discussions on enhancing science and technology collaboration between Malaysia and South Korea. Further collaboration between ASM, KAST, and AASSA was also discussed, including a proposal for a joint workshop on their role as government science advisors.[\/vc_column_text][vc_message]The ASM Bureau of International Affairs<\/strong> plays a crucial role in fostering global collaborations and partnerships in science, technology, and innovation. It serves as the gateway for ASM to engage with international scientific communities, institutions, and organisations worldwide.<\/p>\n

The bureau facilitates exchanges of knowledge, expertise, and best practices through various initiatives such as joint research projects, academic exchanges, and scientific diplomacy. It also coordinates ASM’s participation in international conferences, workshops, and forums, aiming to enhance Malaysia’s presence and influence in global scientific discourse.<\/p>\n
