Event Details
In commemorating the contributions of the late prominent medical research scientist, Dr Ranjeet Bhagwan Singh (RBS), the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) will be organising the 2021 RBS Memorial Lecture and Announcement of the 2021 RBS Research Grant Recipients virtually. The Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr Peter John Hotez from Bayer College of Medicine, USA, with the topic “COVID-19 Vaccines: Science vs Anti-science”.
Listen to him elaborate on the impact of vaccinating on a new DELTA variant accelerating in the US and advancing a low-cost recombinant protein COVID-19 – the people’s vaccine – for global health, which is now going through testing in India. Dr Hotez will also discuss the new trends in antivaccine sentiments in the US and an escalating and globalising Anti-Science empire.
The event will also include the Announcement Ceremony of the RBS Research Grant Recipients for the year 2021. The RBS Research Grant Recipients will share their winning proposals and how their findings could impact the field of biomedical sciences.
