December 15, 2022The National Science Challenge Gran Final was held on 20 October 2022 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. The theme of this year’s National Science Challenge was Sustainable Future Through Planetary Health Based on Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI).
SMJK Jit Sin Pulau Pinang emerged as the champion. The competition was fierce, and Cempaka International School Damansara came in second place, closely followed by SMK Ave Maria Convent, who took third place.
The fourth place was claimed by Pusat Genius @ Pintar Negara, who gave a tough competition to the top three schools. Finally, SMK Methodist Sibu secured the fifth place in the competition, making their school proud with their efforts. It was a great display of academic excellence and a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by the students and teachers from each school.
In addition, students, and school alike were recognised for their outstanding achievements. Wong Ching Wen from Pusat Genius @ Pintar Negara was recognized as the Best STEM Communicator, showcasing exceptional communication skills in STEM areas.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Azfar Haqeem bin Hipeni from SMK Agama Tun Ahmad Zaidi was awarded the Best Biology Award for his outstanding knowledge in the subject. Cheng Weng Yee from SMJK Chan Wa was recognised with the Best Chemistry Award for her exceptional performance in Chemistry. Also, Putri Nur Raudhah from SMKA Segamat was awarded the Best Mathematics Award for her exceptional mathematical aptitude, while Nura Afiqah Azlan from SMK Agama Tun Ahmad Zaidi, was recognised with the Best Physics Award for her outstanding physics understanding.
Pusat Genius @ Pintar Negara was also recognised with two awards, the Green School Award, and the Best Innovation Award, for their efforts in promoting environmental sustainability and introducing innovative solutions in the field of science and technology. These awards have shown that school and students possess exceptional aptitude and innovation.
