Themed “Transcending the Arts and Sciences”, the Academy of Sciences Malaysia collaborated with the Maybank Foundation and the National Art Gallery is launching the inaugural ASM ArtScience™ 2020 Prize Virtual Exhibition.
This exhibition was held on 8 November 2021 to showcase the ArtScience™ Prize, the Rising Star Award as well as the creative works of the shortlisted eleven finalists.
A webinar was also organised alongside the exhibition that explored the international landscape of ArtScience. Moderated by Tan Sri Datuk Yong Poh Kon FASc (Chairman, Royal Selangor International Sdn Bhd), this webinar is the second in its series, which bridged the arts and science by featuring speakers from either side of the creative pool:
- Ms Mona Liem, Founder of the Connected Art Platform (Asia-Europe) & Artistic Director of Media Art Globale (MAG) Festival
- Mr Adrian George, Director of Exhibitions. Museum of ArtScience Singapore
- Dr Roslina Ismail, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts, Universiti Malaya
- Dr Kat Austen, Senior Teaching Fellow from the University College London, Berlin
The ASM ArtScience™ Prize is the first of its kind established in Malaysia to nurture creativity at the convergence of the arts and the sciences and to celebrate the works of the nascent community of artist-scientists.
