March 5, 2025Just an Individual of a Species is the autobiography of the late Academician Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Mustaffa Babjee, a distinguished ASM Fellow, veterinarian, naturalist, and scientist. This posthumously published work offers an intimate look into his life and contributions to Malaysia’s ecological and scientific communities.
Throughout his career, Dr Mustaffa Babjee was recognised as one of the nation’s foremost eco-warriors, dedicating his efforts to preserving and understanding Malaysia’s rich biodiversity. His autobiography provides insights into his journey, challenges, and the milestones he achieved in advancing veterinary science and natural history in the country.
In addition to his autobiography, Dr Mustaffa Babjee authored The Biology of the Long-necked Weevil (Cycnotrachelus sp.), documenting his observations and research on this particular species from April 2008 to 2013.
Both books were launched posthumously in his memory, celebrating his enduring legacy and contributions to science and environmental conservation in Malaysia.
