The YSN-ASM Chrysalis Award 2024 is now open for applications. Stand a chance to win cash prizes totalling nearly RM 10,000. The top 15 finalists will receive intensive training and mentorship from experts in academia and industry.

- Malaysian citizens
- Age 35 years old and below
- Currently in the final year of PhD and have not completed research viva

The YSN-ASM Chrysalis Award is a flagship leadership programme of YSN-ASM. The term “Chrysalis” refers to “a transitional stage of life when undergoing a transformation between the immature and mature stages”, in analogy to the process that postgraduate students (pupal) undergo that culminate in successful graduation as competent researchers (butterfly).
We aim to identify and nurture promising PhD candidates to be the future pillars of our Science, Technology, Innovation and Economic (STIE) ecosystem. Fifteen Selected YSN-ASM Chrysalis Award Finalists will experience continuous support and mentoring for the next five years after the programme. This step ensures that these finalists are empowered to be outstanding researchers who will contribute to Malaysia’s STIE ecosystem. In recognition of their talents, almost RM 10,000 cash prizes (in total) for the winners and other category for their professional development.
The theme for YSN-ASM 2024 Chrysalis Award is ‘Tomorrow’s Leaders: Cultivating Innovation and Impact for Our Nations and Communities’.
