Empowering Youth to Lead Through Innovation

Persidangan Sains-Polisi Pembangunan Belia Malaysia 2026, organised by Kementerian Belia & Sukan on 30 April 2026, featured insightful discussions on the urgent need to transform Malaysia’s youth ecosystem.

ASM CEO, Puan Hazami Habib, was one of three panellists who highlighted critical issues from declining STEM participation and brain drain to the need for a stronger innovation ecosystem.

She emphasised that Malaysia must undergo a fundamental shift from being a consumer of technology to an innovator. This is not just about acquiring technical skills, but about cultivating a creative and innovative mindset among Malaysian’s youth.

At the same time, a supportive ecosystem backed by progressive policies, funding, and industry opportunities will enable youth to translate ideas into impactful innovations. Ultimately, Malaysia needs a generation with an innovator mindset to not only adapt to change but to lead it.
