Malaysia Highlights Education Reform at AULF 2025

Within the margins of the APEC Second Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM2), the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and Pusan National University co-organised the APEC University Leaders Forum (AULF) on 13 May 2025 in Jeju Island, South Korea. The forum brought together over 100 participants from 9 APRU member economies.

ASM Secretary-General, Professor ChM Dr Noorsaadah Abd Rahman FASc was invited to speak at the panel session “Future of Universities with AI.” In her session, she highlighted Malaysia’s efforts to undertake a National Education Reform, an essential move to prepare the nation for an uncertain future shaped by emerging technologies such as AI. She also underscored the critical role of open science in providing high-quality data to support the development of AI.
