Master Science Communication with Malaysian Insights!

On 8 October 2024, ASM in collaboration with the Institute for Development Studies (IDS Sabah), held a Regional Stakeholder Engagement (RSE) that brought together key stakeholders across the region to share insights on shaping both the Science Outlook 2025 (SO2025) and 10-10 Malaysia Science, Technology, Innovation and Economy (10-10 MySTIE 2.0) studies.
The SO2025 study will look at Sabah’s STIE ecosystem performance through economic, societal and environmental impact, whereas 10-10 MySTIE Transformation Book 2.0 will look at new socioeconomic and technological areas for Sabah.
The engagement was officiated by the CEO of IDS Sabah, Datuk Ramzah Dambul, who set the tone for discussions for the event. It was followed by scene-setting presentations by ASM CEO Puan Hazami Habib and a representative from Permanent Secretary Office KSTI Tuan Mohd Jayreh Jaya on the status of the national and Sabah’s STIE ecosystem, respectively.
The breakout discussions of the event were led by Professor Dr Shahrina Md Nordin FASc and Professor Dr Mahendhiran Nair FASc, the respective Chairperson of the SO2025 studies and 10-10 MySTIE 2.0 to address Sabah’s unique challenges while laying the groundwork for a robust and dynamic STIE ecosystem that will propel the state’s socio-economic development.
