Workshop on Sarawak Mineral Industry Policy

ASM with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) Sarawak on 29 April 2025, organised a Stakeholder Engagement Workshop to formulate the Policy and Guidelines for the Development of the Mineral Industry in Sarawak. This engagement represents a crucial step towards formulating an inclusive, forward-looking and sustainable policy and guideline that supports responsible and high-impact development of Sarawak’s mineral resources industry.

The workshop brought together stakeholders from various backgrounds, including government agencies, industry players, academia and civil society organisations, to deliberate on developing Sarawak’s mineral resources industry. In addition, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) were conducted on key thematic areas relevant to the study, providing a platform for in-depth dialogue and exchange of expertise.
