ASM ArtScience™ Initiative was established in 2019 to promote appreciation for arts toward the acculturation of science in Malaysia. They will be the catalyst that would nurture creativity and galvanise new areas of interest and activities that combine arts and sciences among musicians, engineers, anthropologists, designers, architect and etc.
2022 ASM ArtScience Prize
The first ever biannual competition established in Malaysia to recognise talents and appreciate works embodying the union of art and science. It was the product of collaboration between ASM, Maybank Foundation and; UM, USM, Toccata Studios, National Art Gallery (NAG), Multimedia University (MMU), Yayasan TM, Monash University, and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) as strategic partners.
“ArtScience Lens on Planetary Health” Public Forum
The forum discusses the interlinkages between Planetary Health and ArtScience, featuring Dr Roslina Ismail, the Chairperson of the 2022 ArtScience Prize subcommittee, Associate Professor Dr Jalaini Abu Hassan from UiTM, Dr Mohd Shahrul Azmi Mohamad Yusoff from SIRIM, and Dr Lim Teck Wyn from Resource Stewardship Consultants Sdn Bhd.
Fresh Brew @ RTM2 on ArtScience Lens on Planetary Health
Dr Roslina Ismail and the 2020 ArtScience Prize winner, Dr Ahmad Hanif Ahmad Baharin were interviewed in a slot in RTM2 called Fresh Brew on 27 November 2022 to raise awareness on ArtScience and the 2022 ArtScience Prize. Owing to this exposure, it increased public awareness and knowledge on the concept of ArtScience
ASM ArtScience Initiative had formed partnerships with eight other institutions to increase its visibility as well as promotion increase via mass media. Formation of these strategic partnerships with other local institutes and foundations had positively increase.
The ASM ArtScience Initiative will continue to build strategic partnerships with local and international organisations to increase awareness and galvanise interest in those working in the interface of arts and sciences.
