MAKNA Cancer Research Award 2022
April 27, 2023Every year, the Academy awards the Top Research Scientists Malaysia to the outstanding research scientists in Malaysia. The TRSM recipients are leading research scientists with pioneer mindset to move Malaysia towards becoming an innovation-led economy. The recognition programme is carried-out to build the critical mass of globally leading Malaysian research scientists.
In 2022, 29 research scientists were recognised as TRSM. They received their award during the announcement of the 2022 TRSM from YB Dato’ Sri Dr Adham Baba, the Minister of MOSTI on 20 September 2022. Subsequently, newly awarded TRSM recipients participated in an online induction session organised by ASM on 23 August 2022. The session was aimed to provide an understanding on the functions of ASM and how the TRSM recipients can contribute to the nation through ASM.
Each year, apart from identifying new recipients, the Academy carries out a review process of its recipients. The TRSM database is updated yearly to maintain the list of active research scientists in last three years.
