ASM Engages MVPO on Malaysia’s Vaccine Roadmap
September 17, 2026In a complex, technology-driven post-normal era, the education system must move beyond traditional learning by prioritising values, employability, and lifelong adaptability.
This perspective was highlighted by ASM President and STI Advisor to the Prime Minister and the Nation Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc, during his presentation at Forum Ilmuwan Malaysia MADANI Series 13: The Future of National Education and the Universities and University Colleges Act (AUKU), held alongside Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The forum was also attended by Minister of Education YB Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek and Minister of Higher Education YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr Zambry Abd. Kadir, who emphasised education’s human-centred dimension and a new framework to transform the nation’s education system.
At the heart of this transformation, science must serve as a foundation for developing critical, evidence-based, and responsible ways of thinking. Guided by the principle of “reaching for the skies while remaining rooted in the earth”, education should nurture purpose-driven learners who are knowledgeable, skilled and resilient, while remaining grounded in human and spiritual values.
