ASM President Strengthens Collaboration and Support During Sarawak Visit

ASM President, Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc, completed his two-day visit in Sarawak, meeting different stakeholders to emphasise how ASM is always ready to support the local agencies and academia to better the regional STIE ecosystem.

On 24 October 2023, during the 38^th ASM IdeaXchange programme, he highlighted how ASM sought to collaborate with expert networks in Sarawak to collectively address regional challenges and drive positive change for the state, particularly in indigenous culture.

On a separate occasion, he had a courtesy visit to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, with the discussion’s focus on how UNIMAS can support the National Planetary Health Action Plan (NPHAP) and enhance their science communication effort.

Wrapping up the day, the ASM President hosted a dinner for the ASM Sarawak Chapter to get acquainted with their latest accomplishments and strengthen the bonds within the ASM community.

On the last day of his visit to Sarawak, Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman had a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Biodiversity Centre, Dato Dr Yeo Tiong Chia and Chief Executive Officer of the Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS), Tuan Haji Udin Bujang. He was about both agencies, understanding the function and presenting the opportunity for ASM to become their strategic partner, enhancing the state’s biodiversity and digital economy.
