ASM Factsheet: Sistem Wireless Bridging
January 28, 2025On 6 December 2024, ASM welcomed a courtesy visit from the Beijing Association for Science & Technology (BAST) led by the Executive Vice President of BAST, Ms Xin Li. The delegation was accompanied by ASM Council Member Ir Ts Choo Kok Beng FASc and the Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) representatives.
The visit included an introduction to ASM, discussions on governance practices, and exchanges on the Malaysia Science Endowment (MSE), data sharing, and the potential for collaboration in open science between both institutions.
The Beijing Association for Science and Technology (BAST) connects scientific and technological staff with the Beijing government, promoting science and technology development. Established in 1963, it oversees 191 societies, 16 district ASTs, and 303 organisations, serving over 400,000 members while enhancing public scientific literacy and supporting economic and social progress.
The Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) fosters knowledge, collaboration, and fellowship among technologists. It organises talks, technical visits, and community projects while providing policy input and facilitating ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organisations (AFEO) memberships. TAM also publishes a magazine to keep members informed and engaged in technological advancements and societal initiatives.
