Courtesy Visit by the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB)

On 12 January 2024, ASM received a courtesy visit from the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB) delegation led by Mr Samer Elesawi, Head of IsDB Kuala Lumpur Centre of Excellence. This visit was to mark it as a refresher on the collaborations of IsDB with ASM.

Puan Hazami Habib, CEO of ASM, has shared ASM’s activities, especially on the latest initiative, the Malaysia Science Endowment (MSE). The discussion also touched on building a robust halal vaccine ecosystem within IsDB member countries. This effort will help prepare member countries to face future pandemics, ensure vaccine security, and build public trust in the Halal status of vaccines.

Also present in the discussion were the team from the Malaysia Vaccine Project Office (MVPO), led by their director, Dr Mohd Azlan Zaharudin and the team from the National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM), led by their CEO, Professor Datuk Wira Dr Raha Abdul Rahim FASc.

ASM values its extensive history of partnerships with IsDB and anticipates engaging in further collaborative efforts.
