In conjunction with ASM’s 25th Anniversary next year, the ASM Fellows’ Lecture series has been rebranded as FAScinate™. FAScinate™ is a play on the word “fascinate” combined with “FASc”, the abbreviation for Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia.
The ASM Fellows’ Lecture series, brings new Fellows and their research topic front and centre to the public eye. FAScinate™ features a refreshed format, transitioning from a formal lecture-style presentation into a more casual engagement, to bring science closer to the community.
Befitting the title itself, FAScinate™ is a platform for Fellows to give back to the community in terms of knowledge, via brief yet impactful presentations. Bearing the tagline “Open Mind, Spark Ideas”, FAScinate™ aims to inspire the public to open their minds to the width and breadth of science and technology.
The inaugural FAScinate™ was held on 12 November 2019 at the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) Kuala Lumpur. It featured engaging presentations by six ASM Fellows from two discipline groups: Medical and Health Sciences, and Engineering.
