On 14 August 2026, ASM met with the Minister of Economy, YB Tuan Haji Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, to discuss several strategic national agendas that require an integrated, science- and evidence-based approach.
As a strategic partner of the Ministry of Economy, ASM shared updates on the National Education Reform Study (NER) and its follow-up direction, as well as the Malaysia Blue Economy Action Plan (MBEB) 2026–2040, which was developed to support the country’s long-term planning.
National Education Reform (NER) study aims to recommend comprehensive education reforms to the government to strengthen the development of future-proof talent. This would also entail identifying strategies and priority areas and setting the macro direction for talent development through the five-year Malaysia Plans.
ASM developed the Malaysia Blue Economy Blueprint (MBEB) 2026–2040 as a strategic partner to the Ministry of Economy. The blueprint is a comprehensive long-term plan to guide the development of Malaysia’s blue economy and was strengthened by contributions from 36 experts, including academics and industry representatives.
ASM appreciates the Ministry of Economy’s strategic insights and input in strengthening collaboration between both parties and translating study and strategic-planning outcomes into actions that deliver meaningful impact for the nation.
