Conference to Promote Safe and Secure Science in the Middle East/North Africa & South/Southeast Asia

On 8 February 2018, the Launching Ceremony for the Malaysian Educational Module on Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) was held at Auditorium JC1, Sunway University.
The opening ceremony and launching event was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education Malaysia, Datuk Dr Mary Yap Kain Ching on behalf of the Minister of Higher Education.
The launching ceremony was held in conjunction with the Regional Conference to Promote Safe and Secure Science in the Middle East/North Africa & South/Southeast Asia that was organised over the week of 5 to 9 February 2018. 98 delegates from countries in the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia as well as Southeast Asia attended the conference.
The RCR module is a product of the Malaysia RCR Educational Programme conducted by YSN-ASM. The programme was established in 2015 after receiving the support of ASM and the US National Academy of Sciences.
The RCR Module can be used as a reference material for researchers as well as a teaching guide for RCR instructors. This module is an important document that will contribute to the nation’s dialogue on research integrity and foster a culture of RCR in the Malaysian scientific ecosystem.
