Launching Ceremony: Khalid Yusoff, the Kampung Boy from Machang: A Biography

On 23 January 2025, ASM launched “Khalid Yusoff, the Kampung Boy from Machang: A Biography” to celebrate the exemplary contributions and values embodied by one of Malaysia’s finest scientists.

Allahyarham Academician Emeritus Professor Dato’ Dr Khalid Yusoff FASc, elected as a Fellow of ASM in 2005 under the Medical and Health Sciences Discipline, was renowned for his exceptional medical expertise, particularly in cardiology. In recognition of his achievements, he was later conferred the title of ASM Senior Fellow in 2019.

This biography serves as a heartfelt tribute to Allahyarham Dato’ Khalid’s unwavering dedication to improving the health and well-being of Malaysians. It provides readers with an intimate glimpse into his inspiring journey from humble beginnings in Machang to becoming a trailblazer in medicine, highlighting his passion, commitment, and innovative spirit.

The launch was officiated by ASM President, Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc, and attended by Allahyarham Dato’ Khalid’s widow, Academician Professor Datin Paduka Dr Khatijah Mohd Yusoff FASc and family members.
