October 16, 2023The Technical Team of the Precision Biodiversity Task Force has successfully organised the Foundation Training Programme 2023 as part of the Digitalisation and Internet of Things (IoT) Programme for Biodiversity. This comprehensive training series comprises ten courses designed to cover the fundamentals, development, and implementation of IoT technology in the context of biodiversity.
On 18 September 2023, the first training session, covering the topic “Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, was held at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur led by Associate Prof Ts Dr Nurfadhlina Mohd Sharef, co-lead of Precision Biodiversity Technical team.
Dr Helen Nair FASc, the Precision Biodiversity Task Force Chairperson, who delivered the opening remarks, highlighted that “ASM is highly committed to setting Planetary Health as the foundation of policymaking for the Nation and fully supportive of the PBD programme as an important cog in the wheel to meet SDGs Planetary Health challenges, as well as to enable Malaysia to be a progressive, inclusive, prosperous and resilient nation.”
The programme saw active participation from 28 individuals, comprising members of the Precision Biodiversity Alliance and the PBD Technical Team. This training initiative will extend until 2025, aiming to educate a broader spectrum of stakeholders, effectively preparing them for the journey of biodiversity conservation.
