July 24, 2024Nobel Laureate Lecture by Sir Paul Nurse
July 24, 2024The Science Outlook, ASM’s flagship study, kicked off its first state-level stakeholder engagement for the 2025 edition on 13 June 2024 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor. As an independent review of Malaysia’s Science, Technology, Innovation, and Economy (STIE) ecosystem, the Science Outlook aims to provide valuable insights and analysis to drive sustainable progress and innovation.
The focus of SO2025 would be to evaluate the STIE ecosystems across all states in Malaysia. The meeting at UTM brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the Johor State Secretary’s Office, State Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and members of ASM’s Expert Network in the Southern region. This diverse representation ensured that various perspectives and expertise were considered, enriching the session and the quality of insights obtained.
The valuable inputs gathered during this meeting are set to play a crucial role in the SO2025 study. These insights will provide a comprehensive understanding of local needs, challenges, and opportunities, enabling a tailored approach to development strategies. This collaborative effort is expected to significantly enhance the relevance and impact of the SO2025 study, driving sustainable progress and innovation for Malaysia.
Further engagements are planned at regional and state levels throughout 2024 and 2025. The Science Outlook 2025 (SO2025) will continue to offer a comprehensive analysis of Malaysia’s STIE ecosystem, enhancing its relevance and impact in promoting sustainable progress and innovation.
