ASM 29th AGM: New Council, Key Initiatives, and Future Plans

On 22 June 2024, ASM conducted the 29^th Annual General Meeting with the participation of 203 Fellows. In his Presidential Address, Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc emphasised ASM’s commitment to navigating post-normal times through scientific rigour and innovative approaches.

Additionally, he outlined ASM’s impactful regional engagements and highlighted upcoming initiatives such as the National Education Reform Agenda, National Planetary Health Action Plan (NPHAP) and the Malaysia Science Endowment (MSE). He highlighted the importance of collective expertise and collaborative efforts in translating ideas into practical solutions for national development, urging active participation from all Fellows in shaping ASM’s future endeavours.

The 29^th AGM elected new Council Members and thanked the outgoing Vice-President and four Council Members for their service during the past term. Additionally, one Senior Fellow was appointed while 31 new Fellows were elected into ASM, further strengthening our community of distinguished experts.

ASM sincerely thanks all Fellows who attended this year’s AGM physically and online. We look forward to your participation in future initiatives to drive progress in Malaysia in STIE.
