On 23 March 2023, ASM took part in the Hydrogen Economy Seminar organised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). ASM CEO Puan Hazami Habib moderated the seminar’s first session, which covered the following scopes:
- Overview of Hydrogen Technology
- Government Policy & Roadmap
- Production and Logistics & Supply Chain
The panellists featured Malaysia’s renowned researchers and experts in hydrogen technology, including ASM Vice President Professor Dato’ Ir Dr A. Bakar Jaafar FASc and ASM Fellow Professor Dato’ Ir Dr Wan Ramli Wan Daud FASc. Together with three other panellists, they shared their views on the potential of making hydrogen the primary energy source in Malaysia and the challenges the stakeholders must address to make this vision a reality.
ASM has published a Position Paper highlighting the vital role of the Hydrogen Economy in Malaysia’s decarbonisation journey, resulting in its inclusion as an alternative energy source in the 12th Malaysia Plan.
