MOSTI and ASM represented Malaysia at the 22nd APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI-22) Meeting in Seattle, Washington from 7-8 August 2023.
On the first day of the meeting, Puan Hazami Habib, CEO of ASM, presented the idea of an APEC Open Science Alliance and received much positive feedback from the economies.
Envisioning the APEC Open Science Alliance as one of the building blocks of the mission-oriented innovation policy, this APEC Open Science Alliance ensures that the future APEC PPSTI is an impactful and inclusive platform in giving solutions to the APEC global challenges.
In the same event, Malaysia also chaired one of the Sub-Group Meetings with the theme Capacity Building to discuss the updates on endorsed key projects and centres, ideas for policy recommendations and identify potential topics for future concept notes.
The second day of the meeting continued to discuss mission-oriented innovation policy, inclusivity in STEM, catalysing STI demand and many more.
