May 15, 2018The efforts of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia over the past two years have culminated in the launch of the Science Outlook 2017.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau launched the Science Outlook 2017 at Sunway Putra Hotel on 3 April 2018.
Followed by the launching ceremony, the chairperson of Science Outlook 2017 Professor Datuk Dr Halimaton Hamdan FASc delivered a presentation on the eponymous report.
Carrying the theme “Converging towards Progressive Malaysia 2050”, Science Outlook 2017 is a continuation of the 2015 report that presents an objective independent review of the outcomes of these policies in building Malaysia’s STI capabilities and capacity against international benchmarks.
Various STI stakeholders such as ministries, industries, researchers and policy makers were engaged to provide new data that were then collated to support the analyses provided in Science Outlook 2017.
The independent review is equipped with evidence-based analysis, insights and recommendations pertaining to the national STI landscape based on six strategic thrusts of the current National Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (NPSTI), 2013-2020.
