Open Science movement has garnered significant attentions and is being implemented in many countries. The Open Science implementation is facilitated by the establishment of necessary policy and guidelines, capacity building, tools and platforms to support seamless data sharing across institutions, communities and disciplines. More importantly, Open Science promotes collaboration in research, promote reliable and responsible science, and enable better research data management that meets the principle of Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reproducible (FAIR).
Academy of Sciences Malaysia has organized Open Science Forum for Asia and the Pacific Region in conjunction with the 15th APEC’s Policy Partnership for Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) meeting on 13th February 2020 at Zenith Hotel Putrajaya. This forum aimed to develop common Open Science understanding between the Asia Pacific countries through engagement and knowledge sharing among the professionals. This is also an opportunity for Malaysia to learn the best practices on pursuing Malaysia Open Science Platform (MOSP) agenda to accelerate development in science, technology and innovation.
