June 18, 2023Biodiversity Bonanza: Celebrating the International Day for Nature’s Tapestry
June 18, 2023The Malaysia Open Science Platform (MOSP) was officially launched on 16 May 2023. The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) is honoured with the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, who also graced this momentous occasion.
In his speech, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah emphasised that through MOSP, Malaysia will be able to expedite research and accelerate solutions even with little research and development of human resources, foster multidisciplinary and international collaboration and save resources by reducing duplication and re-funding of similar research projects.
In the same event, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah also conferred the merit certificate for Data Stewardship and appreciation for Data Contributors of MOSP.
The programme continued with an engaging forum titled “Open Science: Democratizing Science to Foster Public Trust Towards Impactful Collaboration.” The forum united distinguished experts from the field of Open Science, aiming to promote public familiarity with Open Science and underscore its importance in building trust and enabling impactful collaborations.
MOSP is a raw research data-sharing platform initiated by MOSTI. The pilot initiative has been managed by ASM since 2019. Strategically, ASM has formed the Malaysia Open Science Alliance (MOSA), which includes MOSTI, MOHE, NRECC, MOH, MAMPU, FRIM, NIH, and five research universities, namely Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
One Platform, Unlimited Possibilities.
