Professor Dr Abdull Rahim Mohd Yusoff is an expert in environmental chemistry. Currently, he is attached to the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He has brought his research expertise to serve the cause of the environment in the country. This is evidenced by his active involvement in several national-level studies involving ASM, several government-linked organisations, and state governments. He has contributed to environmental studies related to water and air around Malaysia. He served as the Chairman for Disposal of Chemical Waste into Sungai Kim-Kim, Pasir Gudang, Johor, of the then MESTECC. He was the Principle Investigator in the pollution study at water reserve in Merlimau, Melaka. Besides that, he was involved in the study on Pollution Prevention and Water Quality Improvement Programme of Sungai Tebrau and Sungai Segget with the Department of Environment. He was involved in ASM’s MEGA Science Water Sector report as a member in 2010. He consulted various industries such as PETRONAS, FELDA, TNB, NAHRIM and the Ministry of Natural Resources on Malaysian EPI self-assessment study. To date, he has supervised 19 PhD students and 16 MSc students. He has been cited 824 times with H-index 19. He has held several responsible positions at UTM, such as the Director of the Institute of Environmental and Water Resource Management (IPASA), Senior Director Institute for Sustainable Environment (RISE), and Senior Director Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (ISI-SIR).
