Professor Dato’ Dr Mohd Amin Jalaludin is recognized in the area of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is known as the pioneer, cochlear surgeon in Malaysia.

He is involved actively in the administration and management of University of Malaya (UM) through his appointment in numerous posts from 1992 until now. He started as Coordinator of Post Graduate Program (1992 – 1997), Head of Otorhinolaryngology, (1996 – 2000), Deputy Dean Faculty of Medicine (2000), Dean Faculty of Medicine (2000 – 2006), Director of University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) (2000 – 2006), Deputy Vice-Chancellor of University of Malaya (2006 – 2009).

He has served many professional organizations, nationally and internationally.
He was the President of the Malaysian Society Otorhinolaryngology Head & Neck Surgeon, (1991-1992), Vice President (2008-2009) and President (2011-2013) of the Asian Pacific Academic Consortium of Public Health (APACPH). He also has been actively involved in the Brain Gain Malaysia programme for the Medical and Health sector.
