Ir Mohd Adnan Mohd Noor is well known within and beyond the engineering fraternity as a competent professional engineer and resource management specialist in his area, water resources development and management. One of the successful projects led by him was the development of a practical and holistic approach in implementing the complex Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Integrated River Basin Management (IRBM) concept for Sungai Perak. The plan has been approved and adopted by the Government of Perak and an agreement Public-Private Sector to implement the plan has been signed.
He is also known as an advocate of the applications and advancement of Science, Technology and Innovations in developing policies and for the advancement of the engineering profession. With his professional and personal reputations, he has been invited as member in several committees, namely Member of the Water Demand Management Task Force of the ASM, a Member of the Examinations and Qualifications Committee of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (E&Q BEM), a Member of the Professional Services Development Committee, CIDB, Honorary Secretary of the Association of Registered Engineers for Disaster Relief Malaysia (RedR Malaysia) and other committees at Ministry of Higher Education and Universities level. He is also actively involved in Professional Associations. He is the Vice President, Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries.
Over the period of his career, he has presented papers at local and international platforms, which includes more than 50 technical and seminar papers on various subjects especially in the field of water resources development and management.
