Professor Ir. Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Raman is currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development) in University of Malaya. His research interests are in stirred vessel mixing, green processes and advanced wastewater treatment. He has supervised more than 100 post graduate students and has published about 300 research articles in high impact journals, books, and conference proceedings. His excellence in research has resulted in him being recognized as one of the highly cited researchers in 2020 by Clarivate. One of his research works in utilizing scheduled waste to produce solid fuel for specific applications has been commercialized by a local company with an annual sale of about RM 20 million. Besides being a fellow of Academy of Sciences Malaysia, he is also the Fellow of The Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK and Institution of Engineers, Malaysia. Professor Abdul Aziz is a practicing chemical engineer where he is involved in many consultancy projects, especially in the field of environmental sustainability. In the last five years, he has been advocating and promoting Engineering Education and STEM initiatives as well.
