Norazmi founded the Forensic Science Undergraduate Programme in USM which was the first of its kind in the Region. He also Co-Founded the School of Health Sciences and the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine in USM. Norazmi spent about 2 ½ years as a Senior Vice President (Strategy & Planning) in the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, initiating several programmes to boost the talent and industry development in Biotechnology. Norazmi is an avid researcher and secured an annual average of RM1m grant funding from national and international funding agencies and established research collaborations in Japan, Chile and Mexico. He also co-initiated a global project to compile writings from renowned experts in the field of tuberculosis vaccine development, in a book entitled “The Art & Science of Tuberculosis Vaccine Development”, that was published by Oxford University Press (Malaysian branch) and is freely downloadable at tbvaccine.usm.my/finlay/ (ISBN: 978-983-47035-5-4). Norazmi has also published a series of children’s book on Immunology entitled “Superjaguh” in both Bahasa Melayu and English, published by Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka.
