The ASEAN Young Scientists Network (ASEAN YSN) was launched on 19 October 2018, as an official platform for young scientists in the ASEAN Region.
The platform was officiated in conjunction with the 75th ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology Meeting in Cebu, the Philippines.
SMK Desa Murni from Butterworth, Penang emerged as the champion of the Young Makers Programme.
ASM has partnered with Sains@USM to organise this programme, with the full support of Makers@USM.
The Academy of Sciences Malaysia organised a Fellows’ Lecture on 18 October 2018 titled Maternal Mortality to Maternal Health conducted by Professor Dato’ Dr Ravindran Jegasothy FASc.
Dr Zainal Ariffin Ahmad FASc conducted a Fellows’ Lecture titled Malaysian Nobelist Mindset 2030: Challenges and Opportunities on 18 October 2018 at ASM.
The lecture reflected upon how the Nobelist Mindset can be institutionalised to build capacity and nurture current and future researchers, scientists, engineers (RSE) and technologists for Malaysia 2030.
In order to remain competitive in today’s world, Malaysia needs to diversify its agricultural commodities and its applications in order to drive progressive agriculture-based industry in the country.
The 2018 MTCP Global Geopark Planning & Development Workshop was held from 16 to 20 September 2018 at the idyllic island of Langkawi, Kedah.
The workshop was participated by 10 international and 6 local participants consisting of officers from relevant government and private agencies from multiple countries.
