Dr Zainal Ariffin Ahmad FASc conducted a Fellows’ Lecture titled Malaysian Nobelist Mindset 2030: Challenges and Opportunities on 18 October 2018 at ASM.
The lecture reflected upon how the Nobelist Mindset can be institutionalised to build capacity and nurture current and future researchers, scientists, engineers (RSE) and technologists for Malaysia 2030.
Globalisation has brought about various opportunities and challenges. The emergence of virtual worlds, converging technologies, new economic superpowers and rapid technology diffusion among others are traits of a globalised world.
Held on 15 November 2018, the ASM Fellows’ Lecture was attended by representatives from government agencies, universities and industry. Among notable attendees include ASM Vice President YM Academician Datuk Dr Tengku Mohd Azzman Shariffadeen FASc.
ASM Fellow Professor Dr Wickneswari Ratnam FASc delivered her Fellows’ Lecture titled Tropical Plant Genetics and Genomics: Investment for Future Security. The lecture was held in UKM Bangi on 18 March 2019, which also doubled as UKM’s series of Syarahan Perdana.
