In conjunction with World Brain Day, Professor Dr. Jafri Malin Abdullah FASc, a Council Member of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), participated virtually in the African High-Level Science Summit on Brain Economy, Brain Health, and Brain Capital. This event served as a prelude to the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Demographic shifts in Southeast Asia (SEA) have increased the demand for diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, highlighting the need for improved access and affordability. Diagnostics and treatment access inequalities, especially in rural areas, pose significant challenges to achieving universal health coverage (UHC). 

Akademician Profesor Emerita Datuk Dr. Asma Ismail FASc, Pengerusi Pelan Tindakan Kesihatan Planet Negara (PTKPN), telah diundang sebagai tetamu dalam rancangan Apa Khabar Malaysia yang disiarkan oleh Bernama TV pada 4 Julai 2024.

FAScinate is back for its first series in 2024. The programme featured ASM experts who discussed topics such as oil palm, rare earth elements (REE), artificial intelligence (AI) in biodiversity, and quantum technology.

On 29 July 2024, a forum titled Igniting Mission-oriented Minds in Young Scientists featured prominent scientists to inspire Malaysia’s next generation of visionary, mission-driven leaders in science and innovation.
