“Get Inspired and Be the Inspiration” was the theme for this year’s L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science National Fellowship Roadshow. The Roadshow was held on 29 March 2019 at the Research Management & Innovation Complex, University of Malaya.
Continuing its legacy of encouraging cancer research in Malaysia via its annual Cancer Research Award, MAKNA once again recognised three outstanding recipients in cancer studies. Now in its 18th year, the annual MAKNA Cancer Research Award (MCRA) was launched in 2001 to support cancer research in order to push towards discovering potential cures for the disease.
ASM Fellow Professor Dr Wickneswari Ratnam FASc delivered her Fellows’ Lecture titled Tropical Plant Genetics and Genomics: Investment for Future Security. The lecture was held in UKM Bangi on 18 March 2019, which also doubled as UKM’s series of Syarahan Perdana.
The 2019 Meeting was officiated by Deputy Minister of MESTECC, YB Madam Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis. Key persons during this Meeting were made up of Merdeka Laureates as well as two guest experts from the industry.
A visit to the Royal Society in the United Kingdom with the objective to understand the daily operations of the country’s first learned society was carried out by ASM Bureau of International Affairs Executive, Ms Nurhanani Zainuddin on 18 February 2019.
